David Good

  

              David Good is a Hanford native who travelled in the Air Force after high school then earned a BA in English and an MA in English/Fiction Writing from CSU, Fresno.
                Good has been a teacher in Valley high schools and colleges for nearly 30 years, and worked for five years on a special student services project at CSUF.  He taught high school English for three years and then moved on to teach first at Reedley College and then at Fresno City College where he now serves as Interim Dean of Humanities.  He plans to return to the classroom after the current school year.
                Both Good’s poetry and his short stories have been published in various literary magazines, including Quarterly West, Sonora Review, In the Grove and Portland Review.  His first book of poems, We Breathe the Sky, was published by Scrub Jay Press in 1996.  He has recently completed a new poetry manuscript entitled The Burdens of Gravity.
                In addition to writing, Good enjoys collecting and playing guitars, collecting art, golf, and gardening.   He and his wife of 38 years Yolanda live in Fresno where they have renovated several houses together.  They have two daughters.
