A Fresno native, Stephen Barile attended local schools and received a BA from Fresno Pacific University and a MFA from California State University, Fresno. He is the former chairman of the William Saroyan Society and the Fresno Arts Council, a member of the Fresno County Historical Landmarks and Records Advisory Commission, and a long-time member of the Fresno Poet’s Association. Stephen teaches writing at Madera Center Community College. His poems have been published extensively, his chapbook, Here We Are, was published in 2006. Most recently, his poems have appeared in Broad River Review, Spring 2009, and San Joaquin Review, 2009-2010. He lives in Fresno’s Tower District.
